How we help

We provide drumming for events and programmes that improve mood, reduce stress and alleviate burnout-symptoms. They’re energising, fun and great for teambuilding!

Who do we help?

We work with staff and volunteers in the public sector, local government, education, charity and social enterprise sectors. We know how hard they work. They do it because they care, but it can often lead to burnout, exhaustion and poor mental and physical health. We also know that employers want to look after their staff but sometimes lack the resources. That’s where we can help.

Our mission:

  • help organisations meet their commitments to staff wellbeing.
  • provide innovative and exciting ways to prevent staff burnout.
  • empower people who are dedicating their time to helping others.

The benefits of working with us:

Research suggests that for every £1 spent on supporting the mental health and wellbeing of their workforce, employers get (on average) about £4.70 back in increased productivity, improved teamworking, increased effectiveness & morale, and reduced compassion fatigue, sickness absence & turnover.

Participants benefit from:

  • increased mood & motivation
  • improved peer support/connection
  • reduced emotional exhaustion, stress & burnout symptoms

What is burnout?

Burnout is physical, emotional and mental exhaustion caused by prolonged stress. Burnout typically makes you feel:

  •  physically and emotionally exhausted
  • emotionally disconnected, negative or cynical about your job
  • as if you’re less professionally capable than you used to be.

Burnout is avoidable, if the underlying causes of stress are taken seriously.

The impact of burnout:

For individuals:

People who are approaching burnout are typically not able to perform effectively in their role, which is distressing for them and affects the overall functioning of their team/organisation. Those in severe burnout are likely to take time off work to recover, or may even leave their jobs.

For organisations:

Burnout and work-related ill-health causes sickness absence, presenteeism & turnover which is estimated to cost organisations on average £24,000 per case, or £1,500 per employee per year. Employees with burnout symptoms may be less productive, demotivated and less committed to their organisation.
